COMPOSITION:
Phytomenadione (Vitamin K1).
ACTIONS:
Vitamin K is an essential cofactor in the hepatic synthesis of prothrombin and other blood clotting factors. Phytomenadione is a naturally occurring vitamin K; it is the only vitamin K compound used to reverse hypoprothrombinaemia and haemorrhage caused by anticoagulant overdose (eg. Poisoning with rat bait).
INDICATIONS:
Warfarin-type and second generation hydroxycoumarin anticoagulant poisoning in cats and dogs.
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Administration to Pregnant animals.
PRECAUTIONS:
Not effective in heparin over dosage.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:
Tablets may be used five to seven days at the rate of 1-12.5mg/Kg (1 tablet per 4 to 40Kg bodyweight daily),according to severity of the condition,clinical response and changing clotting times. Tablets may be crumbled and added to foods.
Evaluate prothrombin levels at least every three days for nine to ten days. If prolongation of clotting time remains,reinstitute therapy for another one to two weeks. Poisoning by second generation hydroxycoumarins (brodifacoum,bromadiolone) may require K-Mav therapy for three to four weeks.

Excellent service and product price
Friends of mine needed to treat their dogs for suspected rat bait ingestion. To purchase these from the vet was just too expensive at a time when money was tight. Especially after paying the bill for the initial treatment. This was a major problem until the vet told us about this site. The price was great and the service excellent. The dogs are now safe and treatment completed at half what it would have cost.
